The Office of Press and Public Relations serves as the primary means of communication for the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C.
The Press and Public Relations Office serves as a resource for editors, journalists and broadcasters to receive information and official statements on issues relating to Afghanistan. Media Advisories and Press Releases are published to announce Embassy events and the Government of Afghanistan’s achievements. Aside from day-to-day functions, the press office facilitates briefings and interviews for the Ambassador on current affairs regarding Afghanistan and the U.S. In addition, it provides assistance to journalists traveling to Afghanistan as well as regularly monitors the media to study press coverage of Afghanistan in the US and initiates responses through interviews, press meetings, and articles for publication.
Through the Embassy’s website and social media platforms, the Office of Press and Public Relations works to connect Americans and Afghans and help the American public to learn about Afghanistan and its culture.
